Summertime is for sandals, and if you are like me, cuts, scrapes, and stubbed toes are inevitable after a long weekend at a beach or lake.

This July 4^th, I somehow managed to slice the bottom of my big toe while at a dock on Lake Oswego in Oregon. After a quick visit to an urgent care, I struggled with keeping the bandage dry and clean. Since my big toe was cut on a lake, the doctor was worried about infection – vibrio vulnificus to be exact. Later I heard it called the flesh-eating bacteria.  

After two days of changing wet bandages that left a sticky residue on my toe, I turned to Vive Wear Medical Compression Socks. The baby alpaca socks wicked away moisture and were easy to remove, change, and wash every day, and the microcurrent created from the nanosilver and copper sped up the recovery of the wound.  I wore the compression socks directly over the cut (with no bandages) and was fully healed after 3 days!

For any future summertime trips, I will for sure have an extra pair of Vives in my med-kit!
